I started practising JuJitsu in 1988 at the young age of 5. In 2000 I was promoted to Shodan through the South African JuJitsu Federation (SAJJF), where I started assisting Sensei Jeanetta at Amatuer JuJitsu Club. In 2002 I received my Nidan and Shihan Tommy Thomson passed his Club, Gojukan JuJitsu, over to me. In 2005 I graded under the authority of the South African JuJitsu Federation (SAJJF) and received my Sandan.
I have represented the South African Provincial and National Team on numerous occasions. I was also selected as the South African Team Assistant Coach in 2006 for the preparation of the Team who participated in the 15th Annual International United Nations of JuJitsu Championships.
In 2007 I travelled to the UK and trained a few different styles of JuJitsu which included: Jikishin Ju-Jitsu, Jitsu Foundation and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
I arrived back in sunny South Africa at the end of 2008 and started teaching again, helping out where I can in the organizations.
