I started JuJitsu in 1975 where I trained in the Sunnyside JuJitsu Club until my husband and instructor opened a club in Kilner Park, Pretoria. I trained there until I graded for Shodan. I then opened my club in Garsfontein, Pretoria in 1985. I specialised in training juniors. I am currently Godan (5th Dan).
I have been very involved in die management of various JuJitsu organisations since 1975. I was secretary to South African JuJitsu Federation (SAJJF) and Gauteng North JuJitsu Council (GNJJC) I was also Chairperson to the Gauteng North JuJitsu Council and interim Chairperson to the South African JuJitsu Federation. I was a member of the South African Sport JuJitsu Authority (SASJJA). In 1992 I was part of the team to take part in the International Sport JuJitsu Association (ISJA) tournament in Argentina where I received national colours. In 2002 the ISJA tournament took place in South Africa where I was team manager. The event was organized by the SASJJA.
